About Woodstock School

Founded in 1854, Woodstock School is a K-12, coeducational, international boarding school that aims to develop responsible global citizens and leaders by providing a world-class international education for a diverse group of students.

Its college preparatory curriculum with an emphasis on critical thinking skills leads to a recognized U.S. high school diploma and prepares students for college entry anywhere in the world. Woodstock School is fully accredited through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The high school program, grades 9 thru 12, has approximately 275 students from around the world.

The School

Celebrating over 150 years of deeply rooted traditions, Woodstock stands as one of the oldest and most highly esteemed schools in India and is ranked as the top international boarding school in India. The K-12 school has modern science and computer laboratories, an extensive library with excellent study and research facilities, and a beautiful new world-class gym and outdoor pool.

Students and Faculty

Students and FacultyWoodstock is characterized by diversity. With an American Christian heritage, over 20 nationalities and most of the world’s religions are represented among the 450 students. Approximately one third of the student population resides in India, another third are from SE Asia and the remaining third come from North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South America. Half of the staff are Indian, and the other half come predominantly from North America, Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. There are 140 staff, and the student to teacher ratio is 8:1.

High School

High-SchoolThe high school has approximately 300 students from around the world. Its curriculum offers a wide variety of subjects including 16 Advanced Placement courses. Taking education beyond the classroom, every fall students head off-campus to explore India during “Activity Week”. They have the option to participate in hikes, cultural, service and environmental activities. For SAGE students wishing to explore more of India, there is an optional Winter Tour planned before the start of the 2nd semester which takes students on a 4 week cultural odyssey. This tour typically departs in early January and returns to campus in early February.

Activities

Woodstock offers a variety of programs, sports and clubs for students to engage in ranging from student government, National Honor Society, community service, and environmental restoration, to social activities, stage crew and audio-visual crew. Numerous intramural and inter-varsity opportunities exist in sports such as basketball, badminton, cricket, cross country, field hockey, rock climbing, tennis, soccer, squash, swimming, table tennis and volleyball.
