Global Schools
The SAGE Program places students at all of the SAGE Global Consortium Schools – a network of internationally renowned boarding schools.
The Global Schools’ Commitment to Excellence
What distinguishes the SAGE Global Schools Consortium is that we carefully screen and select the best of international residential schools which in turn attracts students of exceptional caliber to our program.
To be a SAGE Global School, a school must meet the following SAGE Standards of Excellence. All SAGE Schools offer:
- Rigorous Academic and College Preparatory Curriculum
With either AP or IB level courses; college entrance exams; US college counseling; and graduate students who attend respected international colleges and universities.
“The education I received in India at Woodstock was on par with my private school in the US. The standards of excellence demanded of both the teachers and students were very high.” Julian Schwartz, Westport, CT

- Diverse International Student Body & Faculty
Comprised of both local and international students and teachers.
“Until I found SAGE, I never knew I could study abroad in such a fascinating, culturally diverse place and have so many international friends. At first I felt a bit uncomfortable, but soon came to realize that we are all part of the same human race.” Samantha Bonucelli, Indianapolis, IN - Safe Residential Boarding School Environment
Offering a caring, nurturing and supervised residential environment with on-campus security.
“As a safety conscious parent, I was more comfortable with having our daughter at a boarding school, staying in a dormitory with other girls than in a home-stay situation with a family we didn’t know.” Judy Aragon, Denver, CO - English Language Instruction
Where primary instruction is in English, and with additional languages supporting the curriculum.
“I have friends who studied abroad in places like France where they didn’t really understand their classes until the end of the year. All my teachers here speak English so I am not falling behind in any of my classes, but I’m still learning and getting to practice my Spanish.” David Saul, Albany, NY - Accreditation in the US and/or by international accreditation agencies
So that students receive full academic credit for their course work abroad.
“We offer our study abroad program through SAGE so that our students return with the credits they need to graduate on time - which is important not just for the student and their parents, but for our school as well.” David Weidman, Kimball Union Academy, NH - Rich Variety of Co-Curricular Programs & Weekend Activities
Including sports, visual and performing arts, student government, student led clubs, weekend activities and field trips within the host country.
“Our Model UN team traveled to Singapore to compete. Looking back on that trip, it gave me a great sense of accomplishment and confidence.” Jonas Beck, Hamburg, Germany - Environmental Learning Centers
Offering opportunities to engage with the natural environment, either formally through an environmental learning center, or informally through field trips.
“Studying global climate change in the classroom was interesting, but the highlight of the course was actually hiking to the source of the Ganges and seeing how far the Gangotri glacier has receded.” Aaron Broderick, Raleigh, NC - Community Service Projects
Offering opportunities to be involved in meaningful volunteer and community service activities.
“During our Activity Week I chose to go to Delhi to work with children living in a slum. Now I want to become a social worker advocating on behalf of those who are neglected.” Makani Nakasone, Las Vegas, NM
“My advice to new students is to make the MOST of your experience. Get involved and if you don’t see a club offered, then start one up.” David Abud, Cleveland, OH
“Studying in Cameroon was an eye opening experience which has given me a global perspective and awareness of sustainability issues. I couldn’t have had this experience anywhere else.” Stacy Auberg, Columbus, OH
