Long Term Students

Grade Level:  Students in grades 3 – 10

Are you interested in studying in India for more than one year? Is your child not yet in 10th grade? SAGE welcomes students to come for longer periods than a single year to attend Woodstock School.

Woodstock School offers a high quality K-12 academic program which is designed to meet the student’s needs from kindergarten through graduation. At each stage of their education there is a carefully planned age-appropriate curriculum, culminating in a wide range of high school options which meets the student’s requirements for entering into virtually any college or university of their choice.

The residences offer a close, family-style living environment for students starting in the 3rd grade.  Dorm parents are always close by, and since teaching faculty all live on campus, students get plenty of adult attention.

Woodstock School is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA) and has been since 1960. Middle States School and College Association is a leading accreditation body, based in the USA but responsible for accreditation of international schools around the world.

Why Families Consider Long Term Study Abroad

Besides the many outstanding qualities of the school itself, here are the top 5 reasons parents choose to have their children study long term in India:

1. Value for a High Quality Education

With the rising cost of private education in the U.S. and Europe, many parents are considering other options to finance their children’s education.   Our schools are among the best international schools in the world, and yet tuition at our schools in India is approximately half of what high quality private boarding schools cost in the United States or Europe. In fact, each year we get a few students who decide to continue furthering their studies at Woodstock School until they become alumni!

2. Heritage

Families of Indian descent would like their children to be exposed to their cultural heritage in a safe nurturing environment where they will have the opportunity to visit with their extended families.

3. Alumni

Children and grandchildren of Woodstock School alumni often choose to go to India for longer than one year in order to have a more in-depth experience of crossing cultures – an experience more similar to the one their parents or grandparents had.

4. Location

Parents are looking for top quality schools in countries where they travel to or are re-locating to for business or professional reasons.  With the rise of India’s status in the world economy, many families are opting to place their children in schools in India.

5. College

Parents want to help their child get a jump start on competitive college and university admission. There is no better way to stand out from the crowd than to have had an international education!
