SAGE offers volunteer programs in locations throughout Chile and projects vary according to region. Volunteers can live and stay in a small rural community and work with indigenous populations, or work with youth in the urban metropolis of Santiago. Locations in Chile include: rural Palena and Futaleufú in the famous southern Patagonia region; Pucón, a picturesque town at the base of an active volcano; Pichilemu which is a popular surfer destination and beach town; rural towns and nature sanctuaries near Santiago; and the modern capital itself - downtown Santiago.
Volunteers in Chile may also choose to take Spanish courses and stay with local families to enrich their experience. Homestay families are carefully screened and are dedicated to creating a positive immersion experience for each volunteer.
SAGE's volunteer programs in Chile are flexible, which means you choose when, where and for how long you want to go. With so many locations and projects to choose from, you may want to combine several during your time abroad.
